OUGD402: Ted Talk (Stefan Sagmeister: Happiness By Design)

Stefan's talk was inspiring not just through the content, where he talks about real happiness within design and not just happiness within design upon the face of it, but through his way of presenting.

The content of the presentation flows, he includes a lot of anecdotes which allows for people to related to him, rather than just his opinions and views of design. Making it more personal, in most cases, makes it a lot more interesting and is something I'm aiming to do within my presentation for PPP. And so rather than having divided up sections of each sub-heading within the presentation I'm hoping to have it all flow smoothly whilst ensuring I talk about every topic I need to.

He talks about designs evoking happiness rather than physically displaying the word happiness in the hope to evoke it.

To back up his point he talks about a time when a group of designers overruled the usual subway instructions. They replaced the typical informative posters with posters that evoke genuine happiness, posters with a funny side to them whilst retaining the same design as the previous posters which I thought was extremely creative.
